The reversing process of the tool grinder.
1. Method for reversing the direction of travel in a tool grinder's travel directional valve.
The valve core is equipped with a pull rod, and the directional control valve switches direction via a stroke-operated valve. A traveling pulley on the worktable pushes the pull rod, thereby achieving automatic directional switching. When the worktable moves slowly, once the directional control valve reaches its mid-position, it determines whether pressurized oil flows through both chambers of the hydraulic cylinder or whether the oil flow is blocked. At this point, neither chamber of the hydraulic cylinder is being hydraulically driven, so the directional control valve cannot reach the other end; otherwise, the valve would get stuck in a dead center position. However, when the worktable moves slowly, if the pressure in one chamber of the hydraulic cylinder suddenly drops from the working pressure p to zero, or if there is pressure at one end of the directional control valve or between the two chambers, or if, due to the slow movement of the worktable, the directional control valve reaches its mid-position during this process, a dead center will occur. In other words, when the worktable moves slowly and the directional control valve reaches its mid-position, regardless of whether the left and right chambers of the hydraulic cylinder are connected to pressurized oil or not, and irrespective of whether the worktable’s movement is slow or not, the pressure in one chamber of the hydraulic cylinder remains at the working pressure.
2. Method for reversing the electromagnetic directional control valve in a tool grinder
The directional control valve actuates a limit switch, which, via a limit stop, sends a switching signal to change the direction of the directional control valve. This, in turn, causes the solenoid to actuate and shift the spool valve, thereby preventing the tool grinder from reaching a dead center. It is a type of on-off hydraulic valve that opens or closes instantaneously in response to commands, instantly opening or closing the return oil passage. This hydraulic reversing system generates significant impact during reverse operation.

3. Method for reversing the electro-hydraulic directional control valve in a tool grinder
The control oil acts on the main valve to change its direction. By replacing the solenoid directional control valve with a electro-hydraulic directional control valve, a new switching method can be established. The hydraulic directional control valve consists of a pilot solenoid spool valve and a main hydraulic spool valve. The system uses the pilot valve to switch the control oil circuit, while the oil flow direction in the working oil circuit remains unchanged. The directional control valve always stays in its original position, ensuring that the direction of the main oil circuit remains constant and the worktable continues to move forward. When the control oil circuit switches direction, the spool of the main valve moves to another working position at a predetermined speed, thereby changing the direction of the main oil circuit. As a result, the worktable of the tool grinder also shifts accordingly, effectively avoiding any dead points during the switching process.
