Faults in the maintenance system of gantry machining centers are common types of malfunctions in CNC machining centers, primarily caused by the fact that the gantry machining center itself or its related components fail to meet operational standards. If the cooling system leaks, prolonged use can place significant stress on the cooling system.

Under heavy-load conditions, leaks can easily occur. As the CNC machining center operates, it generates heat, which in turn slows down the system’s response time and significantly affects machining accuracy. In severe cases, this can trigger alarms and cause the machining center to shut down automatically. Meanwhile, when the various axes of the machining center move, they may exceed their specified travel ranges. In such instances, an overtravel alarm will be triggered. Compared to systematic failures, random faults are not frequent but still quite common in the operation of CNC machining centers. These types of faults are usually accidental and can only occur under specific, corresponding conditions. Faced with this type of fault, CNC machining centers often cannot analyze or pinpoint the root cause in advance; they can only implement certain preventive measures.
The occurrence of random failures is typically closely related to several critical parameter settings, operational environmental conditions, as well as the operator’s actual operating procedures and skills. For example, during operations involving connectors and connecting components, if precautions are neglected and locking mechanisms are not properly engaged, the contact points of various switches’ relays and the positioning performance of sockets may change, failing to meet the required specifications and thus causing malfunctions in CNC machining centers. For CNC machining centers, the renovation of the CNC system generally involves a combination of hardware and software components. If either the hardware or software experiences a malfunction, an alarm will be triggered. Typically, both hardware and software equipment are equipped with automatic alarm devices. When either the hardware or software detects an abnormality or exceeds specified thresholds, the corresponding alarm device will activate, causing the warning light to illuminate or flash.

1. Environmental requirements for the maintenance location of the gantry machining center

3. Temperature conditions
The maintenance environment for the gantry machining center must have a temperature below 30℃ and a relative humidity below 80%.
